The Aim of this Event
This one-day event at Queen Mary, University of London, will showcase the importance of learning languages for Year 9 pupils and university graduates.
Practitioners from businesses and cultural institutions will provide hands-on information on why languages matter for future professional careers across various sectors.

A professional panel organised and conducted by the Careers Service Team at Queen Mary will be the day's highlight.

Further aims are:

• to raise awareness of the importance of language acquisition in an increasingly multicultural environment;
• to raise awareness and involvement of businesses and establish closer links to business partners in terms of employability for QM language graduates;
• to establish close links with secondary schools in the area;
• to encourage closer ties with local partners and language agencies such as CiLT, Routes into Languages and Links into Languages
