Scriptwriting modules
There is a scriptwriting module on each year of the undergraduate programme.

Scriptwriting: Creativity and Technique FLM104
This module is for single and joint honours Film Studies students. As assignment work for this course students will produce a treatment and a script for a short film. The course will establish the ability to write a short original film script with coherent dialogue, exposition and structure. It will develop knowledge of scriptwriting; format, structure, character, dialogue, exposition and how to assess a script using appropriate terminology such as back story, suspense and set ups and pay offs. This course is available to associates.

Scriptwriting: Adaptation and Original Script FLM205
This module offers the opportunity to study the practices and techniques related to both script adaptation and original scriptwriting, and their inter-relationship is an important step for anyone wishing to establish their scriptwriting skills above a foundation level. Both types of scriptwriting will be given equal weight as topics and assessed accordingly.
Scriptwriting: Script Development and Genre Research Project FLM601
The module provides the opportunity for students to develop an original feature film project and to research a specific film genre related to their project.
