The Language and Linguistics Section of the CAGCR facilitates lectures, seminars and workshops concerning the contacts between the English and German language in the widest sense.
This includes for instance:
- the influence of the English language on the German language and vice versa
- the influence of the English language on Austrian and Swiss German and vice versa
- Linguistic purism in England and Germany
- Linguistic purism and national identity
A series of lectures on these subject areas is currently being organised for the academic years 2006/07 and 2007/08.
