Ester Pou teaches Catalan language and contextualizes it in terms of Catalan culture. She has a degree in Filologia Catalana from Universitat de Barcelona (Spain), a Master's degree in Gender Studies: Women, Development and Cultures from Universitat de Vic and Universitat de Barcelona and a Postgraduate course in Intercultural Communication from Universitat de Barcelona. She is also a member of the Research group "Gender Studies: translation, literature, history and communication" from the Women's Studies Centre (CEID) of the Universitat de Vic (Barcelona, Spain). Her research focuses on twentieth-century Catalan women writers, and she is currently preparing a PhD on the Catalan poet Montserrat Abelló and her literary translations into Catalan of American poets, Sylvia Plath, Anne Sexton and Adrienne Rich.
