The French Department
offers a number of undergraduate and
postgraduate degrees, from French
language and culture to French
combined with another language or
subject, such as European Studies,
Comparative Literature or Business
Management. Students will study French
language to a high level of oral and
written proficiency with our dynamic
team of native-speaker language
teachers. They will spend the third
year of their four-year programme in a
French-speaking country. We now also
offer a BA in French Studies in
collaboration with the University of London
Institute in Paris. Staff have a
wide range of research specialisms
(the Department was awarded 5 in the
2001 Research Assessment Exercise),
which are reflected in the range of
courses available each year.
